Tools
We develop innovative software tools for microscopy data analysis with a focus on membrane arrangements. By combining our expertise in membrane visualization with collaborative input from mathematicians and machine learning engineers, we deliver reliable and novel solutions that advance structural biology research.
SPIRE (Surface Projection Image Recognition Environment)
SPIRE is a specialized tool designed to identify bicontinuous membrane structures from TEM sections through interactive matching against mathematical “nodal surface” models. This software enables researchers to accurately characterize and classify complex cubic membrane arrangements, providing crucial insights into their three-dimensional organization.

GRANA (Graphical Recognition and Analysis of Nanostructural Assemblies)
GRANA is our AI-enhanced software tool that automatically recognizes grana structures on thylakoid network electron micrographs and generates comprehensive structural parameters. By employing neural networks in a streamlined workflow, GRANA facilitates large-scale analysis of grana nanomorphological features across diverse plant species, performing over 100 times faster than conventional manual approaches.
